Economic Inclusion & Entrepreneurial Development

We are committed to exploring ways that collaborations and exchanges can lead to economic inclusion and entrepreneurial development on the African continent.

One of our central efforts has been the development of the United States-South Africa Virtual Incubator program (USSAVI 2025), a virtual incubator model that has exposed dozens of university students in South Africa to strategies for enterprise development.

In the coming months, we hope to engage partners in replicating this model and identify ways that our various partners can build further collaborations to support entrepreneurial development.

We also aim to promote other efforts focused on enhancing economic inclusion and developing entrepreneurial development initiatives on the African continent. Please reach out if you have information on an initiative related to economic inclusion and entrepreneurial development that you would like to share.

USSAVI

USSAVI 2-25 is a transformative initiative designed to address youth unemployment in South Africa. With youth unemployment in South Africa still above 40%, the launch of USSAVI 2025 offers university students the chance to develop their entrepreneurial skills and contribute to the country’s economic recovery. This initiative, led by Mashauri, is helping over 700 students from 22 universities to create sustainable businesses by providing mentorship from successful entrepreneurs both locally and internationally, which will make it the largest initiative of this nature in the country. By bridging the gap between education and economic participation, USSAVI 2025 equips young people with the tools to innovate and build businesses that will drive job creation and digital transformation.
